Tawny Owl facts
- It hunts at night by sound as much as by sight.
- Its eyes cannot move in their sockets, so it turns its head up to about 270 degrees instead.
- It sleeps through the day, often tucked against a tree trunk.
Myth: An owl calls "twit-twoo".
Fact: That is two owls: one calls "ke-wick" and another answers "hoo-hoo".
