The Swamp
A swamp is a wetland where trees grow with their roots in standing water. In the southeastern United States, cypress swamps and slow bayous are home to alligators, river otters, wading birds and a great chorus of frogs and insects.
The Swamp world drifts by raft from the lily pads and cattails into the mist under the cypress trees, where an American alligator waits in the Gator Hole.
In the game: bends one to ten along the swamp trail bring four creatures and an elite, the North American River Otter, then all five again in costume for the biome's celebration, the Firefly Ball. The legend, the American Alligator, waits at the end, at the Gator Hole.
The expedition's briefing: The bayou is quiet by day. At dusk the fireflies come out for the Firefly Ball, and the old alligator wakes. Keep your raft afloat, and sketch everyone you meet on the water.
